MY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE RECIPE

So I've finally perfected MY own Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe for a small batch. For years I've made chocolate chip cookies and seen a billion and a half recipes, but some are too thick, too crunchy, too cake-like, or too something just not to my liking. This recipe makes thinner, super soft and chewy in the center but just the right amount of crispy on the bottom and not too many, just the perfect amount for 6 or 8 cookies. PERF.

Ingredients
1/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup + 1 tbs all purpose flour - leveled
1/4 cup brown sugar - loosely packed and leveled
2 tbs granulated sugar or baking sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp maple syrup/breakfast syrup
1 egg - just the yolk
1/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup salted or unsalted butter (half a stick) - softened
1 tbs milk

Things You Will Need
Electric Mixer/Electric Hand Mixer
2 Bowls
Spatula
Cookie pan
Baking sheet/cookie sheet
Oven

Instructions

1. Start by preheating your oven to 350 Degrees.

2. In one bowl, put your brown sugar.

3. Then add the granulated (or bakers sugar) into the brown sugar.

4. Add the softened butter.

5. Next add the egg, just the YOLK, to the mixture.

6. Lastly, add your syrup, then you will need your Mixer or Hand Mixer.

7. Thoroughly mix all of that together making sure to make it all one even mixture. Set aside.

8. Get your second bowl ready to mix in some dry ingredients.

9. Add your flour and salt into the second bowl.

10. Add the baking powder with the rest of your dry ingredients in the second bowl. Then whisk together.

11. After you have whisked your dry ingredients together, use a spatula to scoop all of the brown sugar/butter mixture from the first bowl into your second bowl with all the dry ingredients.

12. Mix everything on medium speed for about 2 minutes, or until evenly mixed. Your mixture will probably be a little dry and crumbly, with the mixer still going, add the 1 tbs of milk and let it mix for a few more minutes, this should make the perfect cookie batter consistency. Spatula the sides if needed, and mix for additional time to make sure everything is evenly mixed.

13. Get your chocolate chips.

14. Fold in your chocolate chips into the batter using a spatula.

15. Using a spoon, scoop up about the size of 2 tbs and place on the cookie pan. (You can make smaller cookies if you want!)

16. Make sure the cookies are at least 2.5 inches apart so they don't touch in the oven when they melt down.

17. Your cookies are now ready to bake! Place them in your already preheated oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes. When they are done baking, they will still be a little under cooked. Let them sit on the ban for about 10-20 min, then carefully transfer them onto a cooling rack.

ANNNND there you have it! The perfect amount of the perfect chocolate chip cookies. Hope you enjoy! Happy cooking!
